What Is Plus Size Bra Fitting?
Plus size bras are designed for fuller figures with wider bands (38–56) and larger cups (DD–N). Unlike standard bras, plus size bras often have:
- Wider, cushioned straps – to prevent digging and distribute weight.
- Three or more hook rows – for extra band support and adjustability.
- Fuller coverage cups – to encapsulate breast tissue without spillage.
- Reinforced side panels – for better shaping and support.
How to Measure for a Plus Size Bra
📏 1. Underbust (Band)
Wrap the tape snugly around your ribcage, just under your bust. Take the measurement after you exhale. Round to the nearest even number for your band size.
Example: 37" → 38 band
📐 2. Bust (Cup)
Measure around the fullest part of your bust – usually across the nipples. Keep the tape level and don't pull it tight. This gives you your cup letter.
Example: 46" bust – 38" band = 8" difference → H cup
